October Donations
We have until October 10th to raise the $75 needed to keep broadcasting another month. I can't afford to pay all the expenses for the station. I am only asking for you the listener to pay the monthly streaming and licensing cost which are currently $75 a month to keep the station going. There are other expenses that I still pay for, but I need your help. We only have 3 more months and $225 to go for 2008. I am very grateful to everyone who has kept us going this year. I have an idea for corporate sponsorship that I'd like to propose. My idea is for one company to sponsor the station for a year. I would replace my current sweepers to include your company name. For example - Your home for the 80's - lost80s.com - brought to you by xyz. This would provide a benefit to both your company and the listener. Your company would be the only one mentioned on the station. The listeners would be able to continue enjoying the station without having to listen through long commercial breaks. A lot of listeners come here by searches for "commercial free radio" so I know they don't want to be interrupted by commercials. The benefit to the listener would be that they could continue listening to their favorite 80s music without feeling obligated to donate. I will also work with you to incorporate your company into the lost80s website. I think this would be a win-win situation for everyone and would greatly appreciate your input and/or support.Join Club 15
I've come up with a plan to fund the station for all of 2008 and I call it Club 15. I need just 15 listeners to commit to a 1 time gift of $60 for the whole year. That's just 5 dollars a month! If I can get just 15 of you who love this station as much as I do to send in your donations, I won't have to bug you again until 2009 and you will be able to continue enjoying the best 80s music commercial free all year long. I would prefer to get this all taken care of at once so that we don't have to worry about it again for another year, but of course if you can only commit to $5 a month, that would be very appreciated as well. That's not an 80's song
The problem with picking an arbitrary line in the sand and saying we're only going to play 80's songs is that back in the early 80's there were no such stations. Sure we played music produced in the 80's, but we also played the good stuff from the 70's as well. Lot's of "80's" only stations totally ignore a ton of great music that you grew up listening to.
